DEREK JETER HURT. OUT OF ALCS WITH FRACTURED ANKLE

1:12am 10/14: DEREK JETER'S ANKLE IS FRACTURED. HE IS OUT OF THE ALCS AND OUT FOR THE SEASON. ACCORDING TO GIRARDI, THEY EXPECT A 3 MONTH RECOVERY.

The wind has come out of the sails.  Derek Jeter is hurt in what appears to be an ankle in the top of the 12th inning tonight.  This is a guy that has played with a bone bruise for months now because he is such a gamer and doesn't want to let his team and the Yankee fans down. This is a leader, a hero, an icon and now, the Yankees appear to have lost him for more than the rest of Game one of the ALCS. With him taken out of the game putting absolutely no pressure on that left leg as he was carried out, the Yankees have to wake up now.

When we know more about Jeter, we will bring it to you ASAP.  Honestly, I'm pretty devastated and concerned.  The Yankees will now need to reach back and actually do their jobs and win this ALCS and World Series for their Captain. After all, he gave his all for them...now they need to do it for him.

Keep checking BYB for any updates on Jeter...and say a prayer.
